First of all, I did get a new keyboard. It's a wireless Logitech that came with a mouse. My old one was wireless as well, but it had the old USB plug with long cord and receiver attached to the end of it. This one has a tiny little USB plug -- period. The keyboard has a nice wrist rest, a really easy, soft touch and indented keys. I'm loving it.
Down to business: I received notification that I was chosen to review "The Adventures of Philip Marlowe, Volume 3" from RadioArchives.com. Yeah! Honestly, I hadn't really paid much attention to the publisher names when I chose the books I'd like to review. When I downloaded this 10 story collection (in a zip file that took about half an hour to download over my Roadrunner wireless connection) and opened the first story I was a little surprised to find it was a radio broadcast!
I adjusted quickly, though, and have really enjoyed the three stories I've listened to so far. The quality is crystal clear, with all the background sounds from the original radio show coming through nicely, enhancing that mental picture.
The actors are excellent, and since I'm familiar with Gerald Mohr's acting it's really easy to picture him as Philip Marlowe. [If you're interested in seeing one of his films, he plays the lead male role in The Angry Red Planet (1959), which is available for streaming from Netflix. There are many others, but that one's quick access.]
I'll get busy listening so I can post the review for this digitized version of the original radio program. BTW, if you want to check it out for yourself RadioArchives.com has a promo going and my last paragraph is their headline pasted from their site (AND NO, THEY ARE NOT PAYING ME). If you're into film noir & hard-boiled detectives, it's a great deal.

I've done it!
Today I went to the Audiobook Jukebox site and put in requests for a few of the new audiobooks they have on offer for review. Haven't done this before, but I'm looking forward to something new.
Haven't done a blog before, either, although I've been thinking about it for a while. Well, there's no time like the present, and like the title says: It's a new day!
Let's see where this goes from here... I will say one thing up front: I've got to get a new keyboard. There are few things more irritating than having to constantly retype everything because the R sticks!
